Peyton's planar transformers can mix a winding type on the primary side and a planar type on the secondary side. By converting the winding-type transformers, which have previously been difficult to downsize, into planar type (laminated type), we achieve a compact, thin, and lightweight transformer. This significantly reduces the radiated noise and leakage inductance that were disadvantages of winding types, and due to the laminated design, it also offers advantages against skin effect and proximity effect. Additionally, unlike winding types, the molded products have less variation, which helps reduce the unseen costs for customers who wind the coils. It is also possible to include total loss specifications in the documentation.
